Sorry for getting this up a little later than normal. I was
super tired last night and so I promptly went to bed. We had the normal classes
in the morning lunch and another round of classes. We continued to study
adjectives and then learned the colors…. Červená (red), Modrá (blue), žltá
(yellow), zelená (green), oranžová (orange), fialová (purple), hnedá (brown), čierna
(black), and a few others. Our professor red us an article in Slovak that described
characteristics of people who owned certain color cars. It was very
interesting. Green cars (my car color) signify love, life, intelligence, and
romance. We also learned vocabulary for the interior of a house and a few more grammatical
things. On our break time, Autumn and I went to the mall and walked around.
Later on in the evening we had a folk music presentation where we were shown a
large amount of typical Slovak instruments. I recorded a few sample as well as
video of our entire program singing folk song. It was very entertaining and the
lyrics were fantastic (I will post some later!). This was followed by a
traditional dinner with a traditional band. In the end we all started dancing;
it was great fun. This is part of the reason I was so exhausted and went
straight to bed. After the party I walk with some friends to one’s cousin’s
apartment to get her jacket and took the tram to the dorm. I hope you enjoy the
videos as much as I enjoyed making them! Much love :)... also I found out jednota means union. I did not know that.
