Today wasn’t too eventful except I got to see the castle. I
had class this morning where we learned the days of the week, conjugations for
more verbs, masculine v. feminine v. neuter words, and family vocabulary. I
wrote this: Volám sa Brianna Trifiletti. Moja rodina je z Ameriky. Moja babka
sa volá Kathy. Môj dedko so volá Bob. Byvam s mojou babkou a mojím dedkom. Which
means: I am Brianna Trifiletti. My family is from America, My grandma is
Kathy. My grandpa is Bob. I live with my grandma and my grandpa. I had lunch
with some kids in my class, eating spinach soup, potatoes, and bread (because I
didn’t much care for the meat… especially the gray over it… too much seasoning
I think.) Then we had more class and went to the castle which was pretty plain
because almost all of it is a reconstruction. The walls a pretty much all white
washed but there were museum exhibits and the view from the tower was pretty
amazing. Then I walked around the city for a bit with a group and then road the
tram around to see what else was in town. After all that I came back to my dorm
to shower and study. Today and yesterday haven’t been too bad but Monday was extremely
humid. The weather here is very comparable to Ohio since they are both around the
same latitudinal line... the 49th parallel (as my roommate said). The rest of the night I napped and
studied. Tomorrow’s agenda: class, bookstore for a Slovak English dictionary
and postcards!!! Get ready!, a lecture on The Rise and Fall of Civic Activism
before 2012 Slovak Election, a presentation on the Slovak on our excursion, and
then a Slovak movie! I miss you all and love you!!!
